Terms of Use
Last updated: 10 May 2026

TL;DR — what this means in plain English

1

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and ARAMI TECH LLC, a US limited liability company (“ARAMI”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the Rostr mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively the “Service”).

By creating an account, signing in, or using Rostr, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Rostr. By signing up, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Rostr is not directed at children. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 13 (US) or 16 (EU), we will delete the account.

3

Your account

You sign in to Rostr using your Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android). You are responsible for:

One person, one account. Don’t share, sell, or transfer your account to anyone else.

4

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, with or without notice.
5

Your content

“Your Content” means anything you post, upload, or send through Rostr — roster entries, messages, photos, voice notes, polls, comments, reactions.

You own it

You retain all rights and ownership in Your Content. We do not claim copyright in what you post.

License you grant us

To run the Service, you grant ARAMI a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, reproduce, and adapt Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving Rostr — and only to the extent technically necessary. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where required for backups, abuse logs, or legal obligations.

You are responsible

You represent that you have all necessary rights to post Your Content, including any photos of other people. You are solely responsible for what you share.

Encryption

DM messages and group chat messages are end-to-end encrypted. We host ciphertext only; we cannot read or recover plaintext. Community Wall posts and Roster Group chat (legacy plaintext) are scanned for abuse before display. See the Privacy Policy for technical details.

6

Community Wall rules

The Community Wall is a shared, public-within-the-group surface. In addition to §4, you must not post:

Posts are automatically scanned via OpenAI’s moderation tools before display. Posts that fail moderation are hidden from other users and the author is notified with a takedown reason.

Group admins may remove posts and remove members at their discretion within their own group.

7

Reporting and enforcement

If you encounter abusive content anywhere in Rostr (including E2EE chats), tap Report on the message. Reporting an E2EE message uploads only that one message in plaintext to our admin queue for human review within 24 hours.

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, take any of the following actions for violations of these Terms:

8

Pricing & payments

Free with ads

Rostr is free to download and use. The free tier is supported by ads served via Google AdMob. You may see banner ads, native ads in the Community Wall, interstitial ads between certain flows, and optional rewarded ads to unlock premium features (e.g. a 12-hour Wages calculator unlock).

Remove Ads (one-time purchase)

You may purchase a one-time, non-consumable in-app product to remove ads from your account. The price and currency are shown in the App Store or Play Store at the time of purchase. Once purchased, the entitlement is tied to your Apple ID or Google account and applies across your devices signed in to the same store account.

Refunds

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective store policies. ARAMI cannot directly refund a store-mediated purchase.

Taxes

Prices include applicable taxes where required by law and as configured in the App Store / Play Store.

9

Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Rostr, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

10

Termination

You may stop using Rostr at any time and delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. Account deletion is soft for a 30-day grace period (so you can change your mind), then your data is hard-deleted and cascaded to any messages you authored.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or to protect the safety or integrity of the Service.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Your Content license to the extent of backups, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) survive.

11

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARAMI disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against all attacks, or free of viruses. Roster scanning uses AI and may produce inaccurate results — always review before saving. Wages calculations are estimates based on the data you enter and are not financial or tax advice.

12

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARAMI and its officers, employees, and affiliates will NOT be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

13

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ARAMI and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claim, demand, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your use of the Service, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right.

14

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, those laws may grant you additional rights that this section does not override.

15

Apple & Google store terms

If you downloaded Rostr from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ARAMI only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded Rostr from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

16

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced via an in-app banner. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
